Apple Pie Compote

7 Red and or Golden Delicious Apples
3 Macintosh Apples
1 cup raisins (any type)
1/4 to 1/2 cup of sugar (depends on your taste)
2 tbs lemon juice
1 tsp cinnamon
1 tsp nutmeg
1 tsp allspice
10 whole cloves
1/4 cup water

Combine all ingredients in 4-6 qt pot.

Simmer until apples are soft, stirring occasionally, approx. 40 minutes. Remove cloves.

Serve in champagne or ice cream sundae glasses.
