BBQ Tips

The secret to delicious meat is to marinate it well.

Use tongs, not a fork with meats.

Place the grill rack about 4 inches from the heat.

Do not rush the cooking, otherwise food gets charred on the outside before it is cooked in the inside.

Asian Beef Skewers

1 1/2 lbs. flank steak

3 T. hoisin sauce

3 T. sherry

1/4 C. soy sauce

1t. barbecue sauce

2 green onions chopped

2 cloves garlic minced

1 T. fresh chopped ginger

In a small bowl, mix together all the ingredients above except the flank steak.

Cut flank steak across the grain on a diagonal, yielding thin, 2 inch wide slices. Place beef in a 1 gallon resealable plastic bag. Pour marinade over beef and mix well. Refrigerate for 2 hours or overnight.

Preheat grill to high heat. Soak wooden skewers to prevent burning. Skewer meat when ready to grill.

Lightly oil grill grate. Cook for 3 minutes on each side. Serve.
