Old No. 7 Grilled Steak Recipe

Assemble what you need on a tray before you start grilling. This saves time and prevents overcooking of food.

Foods cook faster on a covered grill because the heat is confined and more intense. When cooking, choose ingredients with similar cooking times.


 

Old No. 7 Grilled Steak

Your choice of steaks - T-bones, porterhouses, strips, rib-eyes or filets, cut 1 1/2 inches thick

1/4 C. brown sugar

1/4 C. soy sauce

2 T. Worcestershire sauce

Juice of half a lemon

1/4 t. garlic powder

1/2 C. Jack Daniel's Tennessee Whiskey

Stir together brown sugar, soy sauce, Worcestershire, lemon juice, garlic powder and whiskey. Place steaks in a big plastic bag. Pour in marinade and seal bag. Refrigerate at least 1 hour.

Remove meat from marinade and grill over medium coals for 5 minutes per side for medium-rare.

Makes about 1 cup marinade.
