Chocolate Cake Supreme

1 Package chocolate cake mix with pudding

1 (12-oz.) package semi-sweet chocolate chips

1/2 cup apricot brandy

1/2 cup apricot preserves

3/4 cup sour cream

1/2 cup chopped pecans

Prepare cake mix according to package directions. Stir in 1 cup chocolate chips.

Pour batter into 2 greased and floured round cake pans.

Bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes, or toothpick comes clean.

Cool in pans 10 minutes. Remove cakes from pans and let cool completely.

Brush brandy over layers. Allow to stand until brandy is absorbed.

Spread preserves on top of bottom layer. Put other layer on top.

Melt remaining chocolate chips in a saucepan over low heat. Stir frequently. Remove from heat, gradually stir in sour cream, blend well.

Spread frosting over cake.

Sprinkle with pecans.

Chill overnight.
