1 lb. broccoli
6-8 small pickled whole onions, or 2 medium onions quartered
1/4 cup butter
2 tablespoon flour
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 cup milk
1 (3 oz.) packages cream cheese
1/2 cup cheese cheddar & swiss mixed
1 cup Italian seasoned bread crumbs
Cook broccoli. Set aside.
If using fresh onions; cook in boiling salted water till
In saucepan melt half the butter. Blend in flour, salt and
dash pepper. Add milk. Cook, stirring constantly till thickened and bubbly.
Reduce heat; blend in cream cheese till smooth.
Place vegetables in 1-1/2 qt. casserole.
Pour sauce mixture over and mix lightly.
Top with cheese.
Melt the remaining butter; toss with bread crumbs. Sprinkle
on top of casserole.
Bake 350° F. 45 minutes.
