Toffee Bar Cookies

1 cup packed brown sugar

2 sticks margarine, softened

1 egg

1 teaspoon vanilla

2 cups flour

6-ounce package chocolate chips

1/2 cup chopped nuts

Blend together margarine and sugar. Add egg and vanilla and beat well. Stir in flour 1 cup at a time. Spread on ungreased jelly roll pan.

Bake at 350 degrees for 15 minutes. Remove from oven and cover with 6-ounce package of chocolate chips. Let melt and spread over. Sprinkle with 1/2 cup chopped nuts.
