This is one of the first quick breads I learned to make as a
child. Are your children showing an interest in cooking? This is an easy recipe
for them to learn with.
Banana Nut Bread
1/2 C. shortening (not oleo)
1 C. sugar
2 eggs
2 C. flour
1 t. soda
3 crushed ripe bananas
1/4 C. chopped nuts
Cream the shortening and sugar. Add the eggs and mix well. Add the flour and
soda. Blend in. Add the crushed bananas and nuts. Blend well.
Grease 2 small or 1 large bread pan. Add batter to pans.
Bake at 350°F. for about 30 minutes for the small loaves or about 1 hour for the
large.
