Baby Ruth Crater Bars Recipe
2 1/2 C. all-purpose flour
1 t. baking soda
1/2 t. salt
1/2 C. butter
3/4 C. packed brown sugar
3/4 C. granulated sugar
1/2 C. creamy or chunky peanut butter
2 large eggs
1 t. vanilla
6 (2.1-ounce) Baby Ruth candy bars coarsely chopped
Preheat oven to 375°F. Grease a 10-by-15-inch jellyroll pan.
In a medium bowl, stir together the flour, soda and salt and set aside. In a
large mixing bowl, beat the butter with an electric mixer until creamy. Mix in
the brown sugar, granulated sugar and peanut butter until creamy. Add eggs and
vanilla. Gradually beat in the flour mixture.
Spread the dough evenly in the prepared pan. Sprinkle with chopped Baby Ruths
and press in lightly. Bake 18 to 20 minutes, or until golden brown. Cool
completely in pan on wire rack. Cut into bars.
Makes 35 bars.
