Ice Cream is made while
constantly stirring the cream mixture while it freezes.
There are several kinds of machines you can use to do this.
Hand-cranked...is essentially a canister that is held in a larger
bucket. It has a dasher inside to stir the ice cream. Ice and salt are
used to freeze the ice cream. You crank this until it becomes to hard to
crank, about 1/2 hour.
Motor Driven...the same principal but a motor turns the dasher.
Self freezing...is a canister that you freeze in your freezer and pour
the cream mixture into it. They are both hand crank and motor. They also
come in a variety of sizes. Ice and salt are not needed. |
