This is one of my Aunt Janet's recipes
and she has been making them for years. You can keep meatballs frozen ready in
the freezer so that you can make these on a moments notice. |

Meatballs
5 lbs. Hamburger
1/2 pound crackers
2 C. onions
5 t. salt
1/3 t. pepper
6 eggs
1 C. ketchup
Mix well and roll into balls. Place on lightly greased cookie sheet and bake at
350°F. 15 minutes. Cool.
Sauce
40 oz. tomato sauce
2 1/2 C. ketchup
2/3 C. brown sugar
2/3 C. onion
2/3 C. relish
2/3 C. water
2/3 C. worcestershire sauce
5 T. vinegar
pepper to taste
Bring sauce to a boil and simmer for 1 hour. Add meatballs to sauce. simmer 1/2
hour more. At this point you can refrigerate or place in a warming dish. Be
careful not to overcook these or they will lose their shape.
