This is a salad my Aunt Mary used to
make for our family holiday buffet table. So simple and oh, so good!
Layered Overnight Salad
1 head iceberg lettuce
1 red onion sliced and separated into rings
1 small head cauliflower broken into florets
1 bunch broccoli cut into florets
1/2 C. chopped celery
1 C. frozen peas
1 lb. bacon cut up crisply fried
1 C. cheddar cheese
2 C. mayonnaise
1/3 C. sugar
In a serving bowl add the lettuce. In layers add onions, cauliflower, broccoli,
celery and peas. Spread the mayonnaise on top. Sprinkle with the sugar. Add the
bacon and cheese. Cover and chill over night.
