Refrigerator Cucumbers Slices

6 large cucumbers, 1/4 inch slices

3 medium onions, 1/8 inch slices

3 C. sugar

3 C. cider vinegar

4 t. salt

1 1/2 t. mustard seed

1/2 t. alum

In a large container, combine cucumbers and onions.

In another bowl combine remaining ingredients, stirring till sugar is dissolved. Pour over cucumbers, and mix well.

Cover and chill overnight. May be refrigerated for two weeks.
