Storing Cheese

Store cheese in your refrigerator. Keep it wrapped tightly in plastic. Air helps mold grow on cheeses. If you get a little mold on the cheese, just cut off the mold.

Cheese that has been frozen needs to be thawed in the refrigerator. If stored for more than several months, it may dry out some and become crumbly.

 

Taco Salad

1 lb. ground beef

1 package taco seasoning mix

1 medium head of iceberg lettuce chopped

2 C. shredded cheddar cheese

2 large tomatoes diced

1 medium sweet onion diced

1 green pepper diced

1 can sliced black olives drained

1 bag tortilla chips crushed

Dressing:

1 jar salsa

1 pint sour cream

Brown ground beef and add taco seasoning. Make according to package directions. Cool

In a large serving bowl, add remaining salad ingredients. Add beef and chips right before serving.

Mix together sour cream and salsa. Add dressing to salad.
