Crock Pot Tips
Vegetables like potatoes, carrots and other root vegetables should be cut in no
larger than 2 inch pieces, because they take longer to cook.
Ground herbs and spices tend to dissipate during long cooking, so it's best to
add them at the end of cooking. Taste and adjust seasonings before serving.
When making gravy, it is best to do in the last 1/2 hour of cooking. Turn the
heat setting to high and then add your thickener. |

Crockpot Pot Roast
3 - 4 lb. pot roast
large onion cut up
1 C. beef broth
1 lb. carrots cut in 2 inch pieces
4 - 5 potatoes cut up
salt and pepper
Brown pot roast in a pan on top of the stove. Add vegetables to bottom of crock
pot. Top with roast and pour beef broth over it. Salt and pepper to taste.
Cook for 8 hours on low in crock pot.
