Description

Spinach and artichoke dip meets pizza in this creamy, cheesy fusion of Italian and American flavors. Crispy crust loaded with tangy cream cheese, mozzarella, and tender spinach promises a delightful bite you’ll crave again and again.

Ingredients

Scale

Main Pizza Components:

  • 1 pound (454 grams) pizza dough
  • 6 ounces (170 grams) part-skim mozzarella cheese, shredded

Vegetable and Artichoke Ingredients:

  • 4 ounces (113 grams) frozen spinach, thawed with liquid squeezed out
  • ⅔ cup (160 milliliters) frozen artichokes, defrosted and chopped

Seasoning and Creamy Ingredients:

  • 4 ounces (113 grams) low-fat cream cheese, at room temperature
  • ¼ cup (60 milliliters) plain non-fat Greek yogurt
  • ¼ teaspoon kosher salt
  • ¼ teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 pinch black pepper
  • 1 pinch crushed red pepper flakes

Instructions

  1. Heat the oven to 450°F (232°C) and position a baking sheet or pizza stone on the middle rack to ensure even cooking.
  2. In a mixing bowl, thoroughly blend softened cream cheese, Greek yogurt, garlic powder, kosher salt, ground black pepper, and crushed red pepper flakes until smooth and well-incorporated.
  3. Gently fold chopped spinach, drained and chopped artichoke hearts, and shredded mozzarella cheese into the creamy mixture, ensuring even distribution of ingredients.
  4. Stretch or roll out the pizza dough on a lightly floured surface to desired thickness, creating a uniform base for the toppings.
  5. Spread the spinach and artichoke mixture evenly across the pizza dough, leaving a small border around the edges for the crust.
  6. Sprinkle additional mozzarella cheese over the top of the prepared pizza for extra cheesy coverage.
  7. Transfer the pizza to the preheated baking sheet or pizza stone and bake for 12-15 minutes, or until the crust turns golden brown and the cheese becomes melted, bubbly, and slightly caramelized.
  8. Remove from the oven, let cool for 2-3 minutes, slice, and serve hot.

Notes

  • Swap Greek yogurt with sour cream for a tangier flavor profile if desired.
  • Drain artichoke hearts thoroughly to prevent excess moisture on pizza crust.
  • Chop spinach and artichokes into smaller pieces for more even distribution.
  • Use pre-made pizza dough to save time and simplify preparation process.
  • Fresh mozzarella creates a creamier texture compared to shredded varieties.
