Substitute orange for the
lemons here and have a wonderful orange velvet ice cream.
Try serving this ice cream in 1/2 of the lemon. Scrape out the center of
the lemon. Add a scoop of the lemon velvet ice cream and freeze until
ready to serve. Top with fresh raspberry sauce.
Lemon Velvet Ice Cream
2 1/2 C. heavy cream
2 1/2 C. half and half
1 C. fresh lemon juice
1 t. lemon extract
2 C. sugar
grated rind of 1 lemon
Mix all ingredients together in a large bowl. Stir until sugar dissolves. Chill
well.
Transfer the mixture to your ice cream machine and process according to
manufacturer's instructions.
